During August the rain finally gave up and we enjoyed a fantastic couple of sunny days back at Portland. Climbing next to the sea Laura and Ali top-roped and lead many of the classic slab climbs in some of the best weather of the summer.

We looked at both rock climbing technique and rope work and safety through out the two days. A few of the good limestone formations on the main cliff also provided some challenging climbing, tiring the arms out after all that slab climbing! The slabs are an ideal place to practice leading, good routes with a handy bolt every few meters gives confidence that would take a lot longer on a traditional protected route. |
