Houndtor details and map.

Hound Tor is a very popular venue for climbers, walkers and tourists alike.

It has many routes mainly in the right through the grage range from good beginner climbs to some of the harder routes on Dartmoor. It is well suited to bouldering with many small boulders scattered around the tor giving excellent problems of all grades.

Hound tor is located near Hay Tor, another popular venue and both are reached easily from the A38 via Bovey Tracy.

Another bonus is the fine Ice cream and Burger van, "The Hound of the Basket meals" which is often in residence at the car park during the summer months.

Hound Tor can be quite exposed but you can usually walk around the tor to the most sheltered side for the climbing.
