Rock Climbing is our passion. We climb all year round in the south-west both for work and pleasure and it’s this knowledge and enthusiasm that we believe sets us apart from the rest.
Vertical Frontiers specialise in low ratio rock climbing instruction. 1:1 or 1:2 ratios allow our clients to maximise their time with us to achieve exactly what they want.
We are primarily based on Dartmoor with easy access to the granite tors on the moor as well as the sea cliffs of the south and north Devon coasts and further into Dorset at Portland and Plymouth.
We also climb and instruct in west Cornwall on the many classic cliffs such as Bosigran, Sennan, Chair Ladder and the many smaller venues in between.
Having climbed in the South-West since 1998 and Guided clients since 2001 we have built up a extensive knowledge of Devon and Cornwall regarding venues and particular climbs to suit a wide range of abilities and motivations from granite Bouldering and Climbing on Dartmoor to some more adventurous Sea Cliff climbing at Lands End.
During the summer months we often climb in North Wales at weekends at all the big venues in the mountains and by the sea.

 Beginners |
Beginner rock climbing courses are run with the aim being to provide a safe, fun introduction to rock climbing.Usually Dartmoor based we cover some important safety aspects of climbing as well as many climbs, bouldering and an abseil during the two days. |
 Improver |
This course is designed for the climber who as taken part in a beginner course or an indoor climber who wants to gain some knowledge for climbing outside.
Rope work, top-roping, leading and plenty of climbing as well. |
 Classic |
Three Star routes on the best crags. Get the most out of a visit and get loads of climbing done.
From classic Vdiffs at Bosigran in Cornwall to big extremes on the sea cliffs at Sharpnose you will have a great day. |
 Sea Cliff Rescue |
This course is a must for any leader venturing onto the more committing terrain of some sea cliffs.
Being unable to walk into or out of many sea cliffs means the aspiring team will need some extra rope tricks up their sleeves. |
