Dewerstone details, directions and map.
The Dewerstone is one of Dartmoor’s premier and most popular crags.

It has many routes mainly in the easier to middle grades and is a fantastic place to start climbing and develop technique on the granite cracks and buttress climbs along it’s length.
The Dewerstone sits in a wooded valley alongside the river plym. It is a beautifulsetting, and after a hot day’s climbing you can have a dip in one of the pools that form the river!
Many routes are completed in a single rope length, although on the main buttress it is often best to belay half way up and avoid rope drag and other problems and complete the route in two “pitches”
Directions:
From the A38 when driving south, go past the Ivybridge Junctions and turn off at LEE MILL.
Turn right and follow signs to CORNWOOD.
This main road will lead you over the moor and through the small village of Shaugh Prior . After the village the roadheads steeply downhill and the Dewerstone car park is on the right just before a bridge over the small river Plym.
