Rock Climbing is our passion. We climb all year round in the south-west both for work and pleasure and it’s this knowledge and enthusiasm that we believe sets us apart from the rest.

Climbing in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall

Assessed to the highest Rock Climbing qualification standard in the UK with an intimate knowledge of the climbing venues means we’re highly confident we’ll take you on some exciting climbs, safely. Vertical Frontiers specialise in low ratio rock climbing instruction. 1:1 or 1:2 ratios allow our clients to maximise their time with us to achieve exactly what they want.

We are primarily based on Dartmoor with easy access to the granite tors on the moor as well as the sea cliffs of the south and north Devon coasts and further into Dorset at Portland and Swanage.

We also climb and instruct in west and north Cornwall on the many classic cliffs such as Bosigran, Sennan, Chair Ladder and the many smaller venues in between.

I did two weekend trad courses with Matt on Dartmoor. First time I wasn't fortunate enough to equip myself and use the skills I learnt but still had a fantastic weekend an enjoyed every aspect. Super friendly, helpful and calm instruction!

Well, kind of... most of the time. Rock Climbing in Devon is a year round activity and we are lucky to have a wide range of rock types and climbing styles meaning we can climb in sheltered spots if it’s too wet or windy up on Dartmoor.

West Cornwall is famous for it’s high dramatic granite cliffs with the atlantic swells close by. There is a huge amount of climbing to suit very ability from low grade single pitch routes at Sennan through to multi pitch extremes at Bosigran, Chair Ladder and many more besides.

Booking & Enquiry Process

• Browse the scheduled trips above and click View Details to check dates, guide ratios, and indicative pricing.

• Depending on the trip, you can enquire about your preferred dates (so we can confirm suitability and availability) or book online with a deposit (with the balance due six weeks before departure).

• Each participant reads our Terms & Conditions and completes a short medical form (sent by email).

• Once confirmed, final meeting details and logistics are sent out ten days before your trip.
